Inclusion & Accessibility
We are committed to making our space as inclusive and low-barrier as possible. At present, access to our building is limited by several factors. It will take time before we can fully meet our own standards for inclusion and accessibility. You can find more information about our current level of accessibility further down.
If you’d like to participate in one of our courses but are facing barriers in our building—or if you’re unsure whether we can meet your individual needs and requirements for participation—please reach out to us! We are happy to work with you to find solutions that make participation possible.
We appreciate all feedback and welcome any suggestions or questions regarding accessibility.

Accessibility at KUBO
Here you’ll find an overview of the current status of accessibility and existing barriers in our building:
Website Accessibility

- Font size, color contrast, and background image display can be adjusted via control buttons
- The online forms have been designed to be technically accessible
- We are working on making our information available in multiple languages, in Sign Language, and in Easy Language.
Building Accessibility
- The path to our building is paved with cobblestones
- The entrance to the building and to the gallery space is accessible. A public toilet ("nette Toilette") is available in the foyer.
- The entrances to the building and gallery can accommodate larger wheelchairs; however, the doors can only be opened manually.
- Our studio spaces are not barrier-free and are only accessible via stairs.
- We currently do not have a tactile guidance system for blind or visually impaired visitors.
- Assistance dogs are warmly welcome in our building.
- Upon request, guided tours for blind and visually impaired visitors can be arranged in our exhibitions.
- We do not have a defibrillator.
Social Accessibility
- We offer a solidarity-based contribution system for our course program. We also offer courses on a donation basis
- Our courses are generally held in German; however, German language skills are not required to participate
- We collaborate with artists who usually speak not only German but also English and, in some cases, other languages such as Spanish, French, and more (a complete list is in progress)
- We work with artists of all gender identities (LSBTTIQ+)
- Our restrooms are non-gendered
Feel free to speak to us in person if you have individual needs or require our support!
